As the sole financial regulator for the UK, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has a unique and influential role delivering benefits to firms and consumers alike. Our remit is broad and our influence profound; from ensuring consumers achieve a fair deal to promoting efficient, orderly and fair markets.
For our people that means an unmatched insight into the financial services sector and the challenge of overseeing and underpinning a complex, diverse and continually evolving industry. Because our work has widespread consequences, both for the financial services sector and consumers, everything we do is under the spotlight. This means that along with considerable personal influence comes high visibility and responsibility.
At this critical time we are adding significantly to our supervisory teams to ensure we can promote financial stability and manage risks. Working within one of our supervisory areas you’ll have the chance to watch over some of the biggest names in the financial world in areas such as banking, pensions, mortgages and insurance.
About the FSA
The FSA is an independent, non-governmental body set up to regulate the UK's financial services industry. So we have an amazing insight into an industry that touches millions of ordinary people every day. The FSA has four statutory objectives:
market confidence: maintaining confidence in the financial system; public awareness: promoting public understanding of the financial system; consumer protection: securing the appropriate degree of protection for consumers; and reduction of financial crime: reducing the extent to which it is possible for a business to be used for a purpose connected with financial crime.
So our outlook is simple: we aim to promote efficient, orderly and fair markets, help retail customers achieve a fair deal and improve our business capability and effectiveness.
For our supervisors, this means assessing and reducing risk in the firms under their responsibility. Please view the immediate requirements for Senior Associates within the Major Retail Groups Division. Rewards
